Psy-Changeling 15.3: A Perfect Moment by Nalini Singh

This was an adorable little snippet just after the pupcubs are born. There are several tender moments mixed with a good deal of humor, and a lot of relatable reality. Even with only one baby at a time, let alone triplets like the pupcubs, everything said describing babies and their interactions with their parents and vice versa is so relatable (aside from the actual shifting part of course). More than a few lines had me chuckling and thinking back on my own children's early years and newborn stages.

Hidden Legacy 6: Ruby Fever
Hidden Legacy 6: Ruby Fever by Ilona Andrews

Catalina is still an interesting character, and her family dynamics are as complicated as ever. The overall story is good, and it's great to see Alessandro keeping his promises and working with her, but there are also a lot of loose ends at the end of this story. Victoria is no longer held at the Spa and now free. Linus is officially part of the family, we never real see much interaction between Catalina and Alessandro's family, though it's hinted at in the end of book summary of events. Connor and Nevada are seen briefly for key parts of the story. Would think that it would end with Catalina's wedding the way that things are wrapping up with the battle, but instead it's Bern stepping into that spotlight while Catalina and Alessandro borrow a move from Nevada and Connor, running off for their own little slice of time away from the rest of the family. Arabella may have finally met her match as well. While there does not appear to be anything listed specifically coming up for this series, this has been marked as the end of Catalina's trilogy, so hopefully Arabella will have a trilogy to continue with this world and the changing family dynamics.

Guild Hunter 13: Archangel's Sun

Not sure how I missed this one in the series. It is an enjoyable bit that fills out Sharine's history and how she came to be known as the Hummingbird, as well as how she and Titus form their relationship, a bit different from traditional Consort roles - though it seems that truly of the current relationships with the most powerful, be they archangels or one of their Seven, they end up with strong relationships that don't fit the traditional molds expected of either their positions or their species. It didn't feel like there was a real gap in the story having missed this previously, but this certainly did help fill in a lot of pieces.

This follows the usual formula for a Black Dagger Brotherhood story. Fighting, finding someone's mate, and some new problem that may or may not be able to be resolved. This time it seems like Balthazar lucked out big time, especially when it comes to Devina, but Lassiter is not so lucky. Not sure where Rhavyn is another interesting twist that doesn't fit the status quo. Not sure where she (and The Book) have disappeared off to this time. It's implied that something to do with her disappearance, Lassiter's worthiness, and possibly whatever intervention the Creator chose to take results in the fallen angel's current misery, but nothing is completely explained with any of those three. Erika may also break the mold as the first human who seems to keep their "mortal life" intact while also still being at least linked to events with the Brotherhood if not a part of them. If Balthazar and Erika aren't supposed to be at the mansion, not sure how they're thinking she's going to get to know the other shellans, but suppose we may (or may not) see some of that down the road. Can't say it's great to see Lash is back in the running, and we've yet to see, aside from Erika's healing, just what the Creator's intervention means for the situation with Devina on the battle front. Balthazar had one thing right in his conversation with Lassiter, the Brotherhood won't back down from a fight.

Took awhile to get to read this installment of the series, but it's still just as engaging as other books in the series. This one gives us more insight into the vampires, especially Wolfe and even Bonarata. Bonarata is likely going to continue to be a problem, and can't help but wonder what is going on with Samuel. Perhaps if he really is with Charles, we'll get more on that side of the story in the next Alpha & Omega book. Perhaps this is the same trouble that was hinted at in Wild Sign. Wulfe and Tilly are also likely to continue to be interesting twists along the way, though at least for the moment, it seems they are more likely to be allies than enemies.
