Miyauchi and Kudou finally get their happily ever after, resulting in little Yuuichi, despite Miyauchi's prior diagnosis making that possibility slim to none. Given all the set backs these characters have had, it's nice to see a happy ending, even if Kudou will probably always still test Miauchi's patience with his antics. Somehow, everyone got sorted out to find their own happiness, at least as far as the main characters in this story go.

Miyauchi and Kudou make an interesting pair. Can't say I like Hijiri and Hajime are both trouble. We finally see why things don't add up with those two, though it plays in Miyauchi and Kudou's favor as it finally gives Miyauchi the push he apparently needed to make a decision for himself. There's so much talk of destiny and fate in this series, it turns out to be a good thing Hajime's is fake. Miyauchi's background just keeps adding more dimension as we learn more about his past. No wonder he's so jaded after all he's already been through.

Aoi and Jirou appear to have found their happily ever after, adding twins unusually quickly to their family. While the entire pregnancy and birth is happening, we see what happens with Miyauchi and Kudou from the time of Aoi's first heat in the previous book and on past all of those events. We also get back story on both characters, giving them a lot more depth than they previously had. Can't help but hope they get their happy ending, though the end of this book leaves that looking like it's just had the biggest wrench thrown in the works possible. If Kudou has a soul bond or "fated person" just like Jirou, how will he fare any better trying to choose Miyauchi instead... Jirou couldn't walk away from Aoi in the end after all.

Aoi his the firstborn to a noble house, but because he's an omega, not an alpha, he can't inherit. When both of his parents die (different reasons at different times), he leaves his step-mother to run the house and starts working under his previous butler to learn the trade.... in the house of the alpha he has a soul bond with. Yeah, that's definitely going to make it easier to "deny destiny" and stand on his own instead of just pairing up with his alpha. Jirou doesn't initially seem to want anything to do with Aoi either, given he's apparently expected to pair with another alpha to strengthen his own family. Despite all of their previous claims however the two ultimately can't seem to be apart. The art is done beautifully. The dynamics are complex and saddening; can't help but feel bad for the characters for different reasons.
