As the title indicates, this is a very simple early reader book all about picking apples. Easy to follow for early readers, so it's definitely appropriate for small children learning to read and can help illustrate that there are many ways to accomplish the same task. There just may be one better suited to different individuals. Of course, there are also many things you can make with the same ingredients, as the list of apple treats at the end indicates.

Barbie: Little Lost Dolphin

My daughter managed to find this one in the school library. Barbie finds a baby dolphin, but fails to help it find its family. By the end of the book, the other dolphins find them instead. The dolphin itself is cute, and the art is well done, especially for a Barbie book. As a simple learning to read book, it serves its purpose.

Disney Princess: A Royal Spring

This story gives short glimpses of different princesses as they celebrate Spring in different ways. Rapunzel with eggs, Tiana with a party, Belle with a picnic, and Merida with a ride on Angus and cute little bunnies. It's nice to see that for once, Adam (aka "the Prince") is actually in human form instead of beast form for Belle's story. Personally I think it makes more sense that way since the Disney Princess stories usually take place after the events of their respective movies. All the friends/staff are in human form as well, which makes this book a refreshing change of pace.

This is an overly simplified children's book, making it best for the younger ages. Each page spread features a simple one line description of a different princess's Halloween celebration. The book also included Halloween party invitations and stickers. Cute for my little girl who loves the Disney Princess line. Not sure that it's something my son will grow to like as well.
