This was the pilot for the TV series aired on cable. Obviously made for a different medium, this series is far less bloody, very toned down, and almost feels mellow in comparison to the full action films. This Blade just doesn't have the same bad boy vibe and overkill outlook that first made the character come to life on the screen.

The third and predictably the worst of the trilogy, this film completes the set. The vampires have wised up to Blades kill code and figure out the only leverage they have against him is the humans he protects. So when they stage a chase to frame Blade for a real human murder, he now has vampires and police on his tail. Introduce the Nightstalkers; a rather rag-tag group of vampire hunters that each specialize in something unique and want to take out the blood thirsty monsters. Somehow, the new characters just seem to fall flat, making the story line seem even more predictable and overrated. Sad considering all the potential the series had to start out with.

Continuing where the first one left off, Blade is out for revenge and on a mission to find his mentor and friend, Whistler. The young doctor is missing in favor of a rather sketchy technician who ends up to be a vampire's familiar. The pure-bloods want Blade to work with them so they can stop the reapers (a new hybrid vampire that's even more deadly and contagious); and make him vulnerable - eliminating two threats is always better than one. Too bad Blade is their one match that they can never seem to keep up with.

The first and best of the trilogy. This movie brings the Blade comics to life in a live-action film. Being about vampires, naturally it's a little bloody. Blade is a daywalker, what other series/myths would call a dhampire. He works with Whistler to take out the vampires and stop any plan he comes across that could potentially make them stronger or more deadly to the humans who don't know he exists. Some unexpected help comes from a young female doctor he saves early in the film that could prove to save him with the blood work she does to find a cure.
