Black Beauty

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Not sure if it's because I grew up with the other film, but I prefer the newer version of the story to this one. Still a beautiful horse who is very well mannered, especially given how often he changes owners and professions. Makes one wonder what a horse would say if he could speak up about his own treatment and way of life.

Black Beauty

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

This goes with the classics as there are few who have never come across the story of Black Beauty. Originally devouring the book as a child, I love turning on the movie from time to time. Narrated from the horse's perspective, it is an interesting take on how a horse views it's own kind and the men who own him. It's amazing how expressive an animal can be, even without narration backing up the motion.
