The Noisy Egg
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
As a "Little Scholastic" book, this is made specifically for 1-3 year olds. The story is that of a mother duck making her nest and her eggs hatching. Major emphasis on all the "quacks" for the duck sounds. Perfect timing as a wellness visit gift for my son as he just learned how to say "quack" the Saturday before. Can't say the actual story or art is overly thrilling, but as a simple yet informative book for small children, it serves its purpose well.

The Tiny Tadpole
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
This is a cute little book about a tadpole wanting to have legs to jump like a frog and how he grows into just that. We got this as my son's free book from his healthcare provider for his wellness check. As he just barely turned one, he's still more interested in trying to chew on the pages than actually reading. My four-year-old, however, was thrilled with the addition to our library and has already asked to read it multiple times. A good, simple little lesson book for small children.
