For a simple children's drawing book, it works. It would be better, however, if the pages were dry erase or if it was like other children's learning-to-draw books that came with the magnet drawing boards or something so it wasn't essentially used up as soon as it was tried. So far I've been able to keep the kids drawing on other paper rather than in the book, but you can tell they want to do it in the book because of the scenery and lines provided.
