Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979)

My brother-in-law was very excited to see we had this, but admittedly it was more because this was done by Stuido Ghibli than anything else. The second movie in this series, this one features Lupin as he pursues the Duke of Cagliostro, who plans to marry Clarisse de Cagliostro. Lupin must essentially save the damsel in distress as she is the very object he will steal, continuing his reputation as a "gentleman" thief. Overall I can't say it's my type of story or artwork, and it is very different from the usual Studio Ghibli films. You can tell the series was originally created by someone else as the character designs differ drastically from Miyzaki's other works.
