This is a good quick read with interesting characters and new twists. Still can't get myself to like Nash, especially with his behavior towards Celeste and Brandon. Brandon continues to be a surprise. He's the "good guy" in more ways than you can count. This new pack moving in was a bit of a surprise. A little curious about what will happen to Ryder's followers now that they're cured and he's not. Hope he doesn't cause more problems in the future, but would kind of like to see how his friends would interact with Brandon and the others minus their aggravating leader. Ellen leaves her series endings very open to continuation or further ideas via the readers own imagination as it isn't all spelled out to the final conclusion.

Stormy is an interesting new character. Was a little worried she'd be more on Jagger and Luna's side of the equation to start with. Pleasantly surprised how well she connected with Raven instead. Could easily see the series ending here as Raven now has what she claims to have always wanted. Could also see it continuing with new adventures as she discovers what vampire life is really like and her friends and family adjust to her new status. Slightly curious what a story like that would bring after all this tip-toeing around her eventual change. It was a relief that Alexander finally stepped up to the plate. Honestly after this long it's amazing someone else hasn't succeeded in one of their little power plays to take Raven from him.

Celeste is driving me a little crazy here. She keeps talking to herself about how important Brandon is and how she loves him, wants to be with him, needs to tell her friends and stop hiding, etc. Yet she never sticks to her guns or does anything. She'll take one mousy step forward, feel bad that it didn't go according to plan, then let her friends, and especially Nash, push her around again. Nash is another set of trouble, especially now that he's also a werewolf and set on Celeste more than ever. Brandon will be facing even more trouble in that department, especially if he does take the cure and can no longer face off against the newest werewolf in town. Not to mention the little detail about the so many people seeing the two of them going at it in the school gym during the dance. Run for cover?

This continues after the Blood Relatives series in the manga. The art is more rough in this series than in several graphic novel adaptations that seem popular recently. Raven and Alexander are drawn so similarly in black and white that without their wardrobe, they sometimes look nearly identical. One has to admit though, their idea of a Gothic Cinderella is rather amusing. More trouble is likely headed their way as Alexander's cousin is still in town with his gang, creating yet one more hurdle if Alexander and Raven want any quality time together while they're both over-run by the play.

Another great installation to this series. Probably one of my few complaints would be that the books are just so short. I always want more when they end. This one covered Raven and Alexander's birthdays while still dealing with the Maxwell's recent mischief and Becky learning the truth about vampires. Kind of think it would be nice to get some kind of real ceremony for Raven and Alexander after all this beating around the bush the whole series, but still glad Raven caught on to Jagger's trick before it caused any irreparable harm; especially to Sebastian. Luna still makes me leery, so I can't say between her behavior and trying to trick someone into being hers for eternity that I really feel sorry for her. I do kind of wish they could establish Sebastian's ability to maybe keep a real secret so they could fill him in on Phoenix. While I'm glad he finally saw the light as far as the Maxwell's actions went, his misconstrued negative thoughts and feelings towards Raven leave a bad aftertaste. Maybe in the next book that will get smoothed over more. Then again, they're likely in for even more chaos with Alexander's sister coming to town.

Full Moon 1: Once in a Full Moon by Ellen Schreiber

This book is more of a teaser and cliff-hanger than anything else. Yes, they finally say they want to be together. Yes, Brandon finally admits he's a werewolf. So what happens to the three-some, the six-some, the psychic celebrity and more importantly, Nash supposedly seeing Brandon transform before fleeing in the last pages of the book? That's no ending; it's a setup for more reading with no discernible conclusion as of yet. Kind of hoping this means there is a sequel in the works, because otherwise the current ending is just disappointing.
