This is a very sweet conclusion to the original story. Most series of this type emphasis how the relationship is unaccepted or looked down on. While that still plays a role here, and is seen even in the type of vacation and ceremony they choose in the end, they are fortunate that those who do know are supportive and accepting, especially as it's clear the boys have no intention of separating. It's a rather natural progression, though the timeline is vague and may seem somewhat rushed if you're counting days rather than just enjoying the story for what it is.

Nao and Seiichi both seem to have it together in their professional lives, though Seiichi may be getting more push back for his temporary position than Nao does at the clinic. These two cross paths by chance repeatedly, and seem somehow drawn to each other for different reasons. What starts off as a one-time encounter ends up as a limited time agreement that neither one of them really seem to want to end, but struggle with communicating that, or at least in Nao's case, even understanding if his feelings are genuine or a replacement for his senpai. They may move quickly, but they are also oddly sweet with each other, and there's no denying Seiichi is leagues better after the brief encounter we have with this senpai.
