This ends about as expected from the way the series is set up, though Kei is very easy going about it all even with his own heartbreak in the process. At least there is some good that comes out of it all for Kei given his reconciliation with his father. Mako has to wait a bit once she realizes things as she understandably needs to talk to Kei first, but he's conveniently gone home and isn't around. Mitsuru and Mako really have the biggest change overall, not only in realizing their own feelings, but in their awareness of their own situations and what has lead them to this point as they learn to accept themselves. It's a cute and fairly quick read, though somewhat predictable with the growing conflict and emotions.

Love in Focus 2 by Yoko Nogiri

Mitsuru and Mako seem to becoming closer, much to Kei's concerns. Kei finally confesses to Mako, though it seems to be out of desperation in part with how close she's getting to Mitsuru. Mitsuru has been warned away as well, and seems to be of the opinion that's not the type of "like" he holds for Mako... or maybe not. Meanwhile Mako is confused by Kei's confession and why she feels so different when she's close to Mitsuru. The only one who seems to be sure of what he wants is Kei. Things will need to be resolved quickly considering there is only one volume remaining in the series, hopefully without too many emotional injuries along the way.

Love in Focus 1 by Yoko Nogiri

It wasn't intentional, but I seem to be sticking with the photography theme a bit longer with this as my next read. Mako has a very strong passion for photography, leading her to reunite with her childhood friend, Kei, for high school and living at "Lens House". Most of the students living there are in the photography club, except for the only other first year seems to have a bit of a sore spot when it comes to photography, leading to more than a few awkward interactions. In the meantime, Mako wants her fellow first year to let her take his picture, and that doesn't go unnoticed by Kei. Given the short chat towards the end of the volume, it seems Kei really might not see Mako as a little sister, despite her earlier assurances of such and him playing along with the statement when they were at school earlier. Seems like there's the start of a triangle going on here, though none of them are on the same page about it.
