Obviously this series didn't do a whole lot to hold my attention in the first place if I read the first 3/4 back in 2013 and am only just now finally finishing the series. On the plus side, the books are shorter than most of my usual series, so it is a quick read. Daire still seems a little off kilter, and Dace nearly becomes the villain for real, neatly switching places with his "evil twin," Cade. Of course that just won't do for a happily ever after, so somehow they have to save all 3 realms as well as each other... well Cade does die, but that was inevitable once his father bit the dust. The only unexpected twist at the end is the realization that Dace is not in fact the last Richter left alive since Gabe has a son on the way even though he's now out of the picture. That leaves some open ends of future possibility for the series to be picked back up again in the future, especially with the vision Daire has of her future with Cade yet to come. It could potentially turn into another spin-off series, but I hope it doesn't. This type of series, despite the quick distraction, doesn't seem to do it for me any more.

Soul Seekers 3: Mystic

This is really going the way Immortals did, which is rather disappointing. Replace special juice and mental powers with animal guides and nature powers; you have the whole premise of this tale. Miraculously everyone comes back to life after having literally died for various reasons. Dace's spirit guide abandoned the oh-so-perfect upperworld to help retrieve Dace's soul and stop Phyre. It was pretty obvious from the start that something was very wrong with Phyre. The brief glimpse of Dace's skinwalker form leaves some curiosity at the end of the book, but that's about it. At least Phyre and her father won't be going on a rampant anymore. For the first time ever, Cade is the one hurt without it affecting Dace. A little surprised they didn't grab that chance while they had it, but then there wouldn't be anything for book 4. Sadly, I'm ready for this series to be over.

Soul Seekers 2: Echo

Alright, so how does the series continue when all three of the main characters are now supposedly dead? This also nullifies Phyre's supposed purpose for being there. Sadly, most of the actions are rather predictable. Hoped it would get better as it went in, not take a sudden nose dive long before Immortals managed it. This is not boding well to finish out two more books for the series which I actually hoped would only be one more originally. About the only good things so far have been Lita, Jennika's improvement, and Sochee (don't ask me to spell her name other than how she described it being pronounced in the first book - it still trips me up every time it crosses the page). There's another point: could you come up with more difficult names? Normally they don't bother me that much, but every other person seems to be in desperate need of a name change just so you can read it and tell who's who without tripping over how similar or strange they are. Can't say these are impressing me.

I've been interested in this series for awhile, but had a really hard time getting into it. As in it wasn't until well past halfway through the book that I actually felt like I really cared about finishing it at all. That's not a good track record. Daire leaves as much to be desired in as Ever did in the previous Immortals series. Cade and Dace are another obstacle in the mix. Suffice it to say I don't get the impression things will end well for this trio. I also sadly find myself glad this is a short series as I'm not sure I could wade through more than 4 books if the next three are as hard to dive into as this one was.

Received an email for this, though I've yet to get the Immortals short, which was the whole reason I signed up for her fan site in the first place. Will be removing the forced Facebook app to read this as well.

Daire would appear to be the main character for the new Immortals spin off, Soul Seekers. Daire is having visions of things and no one seems to believe her. She's fed up with hospitals and tests, leading her to almost leave her mother at the hospital when she runs into Ever. Of course Damen isn't far behind, leaving her more hopeful and curious after witnessing Ever manifest a bottle of water and learning she's not the only one who sees these strange things.

Could have potential, especially if you really liked the original series. Hard to tell as the short just doesn't give enough to get a real feel for Daire herself.
