Things start out rough in this volume, and understandably so given where it picks up from the previous volume. It would also seem like much more time passes between encounters than what it may come across as with the quick turn of a page given the multiple holidays in this volume. All that aside, once the boys start talking, it's apparent they really do want the same thing, they're just both afraid (with good reason). The remainder of the series is almost sickenly sweet as the boys seem to be making up for lost time and then some. They both have their turn at moments of jealousy that are highlighted in this volume as well. While it's arguable that there still isn't a definite "ending," there is enough talk of their future and plans together for readers to imagine how things go, especially given the way things usually end up when these two are together.

Lover Boy 4

Jaeha deserves some of the anger directed at him, sure, but Eunho is throwing out more than a few mixed signals himself and acting like a jerk in trying to imitate Jaeha's previous reserve when they meet up again. It's rather impressive how Jaeha finally figures things out and comes to terms with what he wants, though hopefully it's not another case of too little too late. Eunho's reaction is not really what is expected at all on the surface, but makes sense underneath given how sensitive he is to Jaeha especially. Hopefully the truth hasn't destroyed his own self confidence to the point where he's now the one unwilling to take a chance. It looks like Eunho hasn't responded to Jaeha yet at the end of this volume, though they are once again surrounded by Eunho's family. The next volume looks to be the last of the series, so expect to see the final resolution of events then.

Wow, Jaeha really had a lot of experience with unhealthy relationships, which combined with his desperate need to be loved mixes for a very dangerous combo. It's no wonder he second guesses himself so much, though it's too bad it's at the risk of costing both him and Eunho their new happiness. It's not too surprising then when Eunho makes his decision at the end of this volume. Hopefully the time apart will be even more revealing and Jaeha won't fall back into more unhealthy relationships. It's rather concerning that they're both withdrawing so completely and so suddenly, even when Eunho is able to at least sort of figure out some of Jaeha's fears of hurting him even more. Don't think this is exactly what Eunho's sister had in mind when she issued her warning to Jaeha, but she doesn't know how their relationship had changed either.

Lover Boy 2

Jaeha has some harsh realizations in this novel as his relationship turns from friends with benefits to something more genuine and he begins to understand the part he's played in his past relationships. Meanwhile, Eunho struggles with reading Jaeha as the distance between them remains and he learns more of his pasts relationships. They finally seem to have found some happiness, but that is overshadowed by their own worries they are keeping to themselves and the potential for the future, especially when Eunho will eventually leave for his military service, which they bring up very briefly at one point. While they might both have a better idea of their own feelings, it's safe to say they aren't out of the woods yet.

Lover Boy 1

Fortunately, the majority of this story takes place when both characters are grown, one in college and the other recently divorced. Their story begins when the youngest, Eunho, is merely 3 years old however, leaving a lifetime of interactions and habits between the two. Jaeha has always meant the world to Eunho, but for many reasons, Jaeha never saw him in the same light and often dismissed his feelings as not being possible for one reason or another. Even though Jaeha seems to have fallen into a comfortable relationship with his ex at the time when his path crosses with Eunho once again, Eunho eventually decides he isn't willing to just sit on the sidelines as he did in the past. The confrontations are anything but comfortable, but also needed. Hopefully Jaeha isn't in this for the wrong reasons and can truly see past their history. Eunho is so earnest and innocent that it's hard to be mad at him, even when he's rather relentless and maybe even a little selfish when it comes to his own feelings. The way this is portrayed, it could either go really well or really badly, and either version could have a myriad of ups and downs in between. Given the history and loneliness both boys seem to be struggling with at this point, can't help but hope for the best though.
