Immortals 6: Everlasting

Being the last book in the series, of course the antidote has to be found and Ever and Damen have to find a way to move on together. Overall Damen was rather disappointing in his view of things and reactions in the book. Ever stepped up to the plat a bit, though still coming off as rather childish at times. It was a bit of a relief to see Jude and Honor getting some better pieces of life together at the end. Overall a decent, if predictable, end to the series that sadly could have come much sooner and not have felt as dragged out as it did. Left off feeling a little lacking even though everything was "resolved" so to speak.

Immortals 5: Night Star

The story is finally starting to look and feel like it is getting back on track. The books in between largely seemed like placeholders or filler. At least Haven didn't last as a distraction half as long as Ramon did. There's at least one more hurdle yet between still searching for the antidote, the new mysterious song from Summerland, and don't forget Jude and Miles now knowing the whole story while striking up tentative friendships with Damen. Despite the ups and downs in the story, it only seems right to finish it with only one more to go after this installment.

Immortals 4: Dark Flame

This series seems to be losing consistency and taking nose dives from unique and interesting back into mundane and cliche. Everything going wrong turn out to be nothing but the result of negative thoughts and energy, including the spell from the previous books that initially bound Ramon and Ever together. Jude rushes in to save the day only to destroy Ramon and the very antidote all this angst has been about retrieving in the first place. Haven, the supposed best friend, is now out for blood and declaring war on her new maker. Miles is discovering more secrets over seas while things are falling apart back home. While I really want to see how Ever and Damon end up, these sequels seem to make the story worse in some senses, which is very sad given how much potential the story has always had.

Immortals 3: Shadowland

As the series goes, not my favorite book but still a decent fast read. Ever isn't getting any breaks in this one. She still can't touch Damon. Only to top it off, Damon is now unsure not only if there's something going on with Ramon, but also if Jude is a past lover reincarnated that he's been keeping Ever away from constantly. I do like that Ever has so far stuck to her convictions as far as Damon being her only choice. Not so impressed with Ramon's little stunt at the end that forced Haven to turn into an immortal. That is going to cause a lot of upset for Ever down the road. Not to mention the whole playing with magic she doesn't really understand bit. They need the antidote fast before they run into something else they can't cure.

Immortals 2: Blue Moon

Ever is the only one who seems to know something is very wrong with the new kid, Roman. His arrival heralds the falling apart of her newly stabilized world, clear down to Damen abandoning her as he turns back mortal and forgets all about their history together. A desperate bid to save his life is her last hope, but the unknown cost means yet another search for a cure as otherwise they'll never be able to truly be together again. Once again, Ever's world is going to be turned upside down.

Immortals 1: Evermore
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Wasn't really sure what to expect from this one when I picked it up. Seemed a popular choice for many readers interested in other authors I like, so thought I'd give it a try. Pleasantly surprised by a unique twist on the idea of immortals in this series. You would think it all points towards the typical vampires, but it turns out that couldn't be further from the truth. Interested to see what happens with Ever as she learns what it means to be an immortal.
