I first read and fell in love with these characters from the original trilogy back in high school. Now married and through college, it was a thrill to find an official sequel to the tale. I especially liked the growth in Domenic and Alanna as they they struggled to find their true places both in society and with each other. It did seem as if Fransisco's newest betrayal was glossed over and dismissed, which was rather disappointing. He seems to be the one character more than any other that truly is a thorn in their sides.
